Board of Directors

  • Eric Schinder, Ph.D., President

I am originally from Los Angeles. My professional background: Trained as a clinical psychologist, for many years have served as the CEO of Child and Family Resources, a non-profit organization in Arizona. I have served on the following boards: Planned Parenthood, Southern Arizona Psychological Association, and the Jewish Community Relations Council. I am interested in serving on this board because both my parents were immigrants, and my father was also a refugee escaping Nazi Germany to Peru. As a Jewish man who grew up bilingual, with parents who struggled to adapt to a new life, I believe it is my obligation to help others who are immigrants or marginalized.

  • Jimmy Fein, Treasurer

I am Jimmy Fein, 74 years young. Born and raised in Olivette, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis. I graduated from Horton Watkins (Ladue) high school in 1966, Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, in 1971 and St. Louis College of Law in 1973. My law practice has been a concentration of consumer protection laws including defective products, lemon vehicles, personal injury, and medical malpractice. In 2000, I served as President of the Arizona Trial Lawyers now known as Arizona Association for Justice. I am now retired from the active practice of law. I have been married to Selina Garces for 38 years and have one daughter, Samantha, age 37, a professional artist in Cambridge, Massachusetts. A few years ago, Barry Kirschner invited me to visit the Tucson Jewish Museum and Holocaust Center and I was hooked. The pandemic slowed things down but now I am ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work.

  • Sharon Glassberg, Secretary

I am originally from Tucson, Arizona. Yes, I am one of those native Tucsonans! My professional background: I am currently a licensed clinical therapist working at Jewish Family & Children’s Services with our community’s Holocaust survivors. Prior to joining JFCS I was the VP for Programming & Organizational Development/Director, Jewish Education at the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona where I directed Tucson Hebrew High and taught the senior class. In addition to the high school I wrote and obtained grants for programs such as PJ Library and The Better Together program which brought elders and teens together to engage with and learn from each other. I was a volunteer advisor to the University of Arizona Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega, I served on the organizing committee for what was formerly known as NAACCHHS (North American Association of Community and Congregational Hebrew High Schools), now JTeen, and was conference chair for the annual summer educators conference.

  • Stephanie Chapman

I am originally from El Paso, Texas. I have always been surrounded by the military, coming from a military family and living in a military town. I am a surviving spouse of a United States Marine. My professional background: I am a Rehabilitation Counselor, having earned my Master's in 2016. I also have a Bachelor's in Social Work. I served on the El Paso Holocaust Museum & Study Center's board for six months up until I moved to Tucson in 2017. I had been a volunteer at the museum about four years prior to that. I am interested in serving on this board because I would like to be a part of the effort to educate the community about the Holocaust as well as other atrocities that affect society. I consider myself an advocate and an activist and strive to reflect the caring & kindness I want to see in the world.

  • Todd Glick

I am originally from Phoenix, Arizona, but was raised in Tucson. My professional background: I graduated from ASU with a finance degree in May 2022. I worked for Northwestern Mutual as a college financial representative from 2021-2022. I now work as a registered financial advisor with Greenberg Financial Group. I am interested in serving on this board because I believe it is important to educate the masses on the human fallacies that lead to acts of genocide. I want to help ensure the TJHMC has a place for others to share their experiences and move the conversation forward surrounding equality. I believe by serving on this board I can do a small part in stopping dehumanization and bringing humans together.

  • Rosie Kahn

I was born in Cleveland, Ohio, but moved to Tucson at the age of 4 1/2. Professionally I was a speech pathologist for over 35 years. I have served on many boards in the Jewish community over the years including Anshei Israel, the Federation, JCRC, the Foundation and the TJMHC, to name a few. I look forward to serving on this board because I feel the history of the Holocaust must be taught, the history of our role in making Tucson what it is today must be preserved, and having had two parents who were survivors of Auschwitz I feel it is my duty to memorialize their history and the memory of the life they created for me and my brothers.

  • Tani Sanchez

I was reared in Tucson, Arizona. My professional background: faculty member in Africana Studies at the University of Arizona. I am also involved in the Tucson Black Film Club. I am currently on an advisory board of a newly formed African American institution. I am interested in serving on this board because of diverse programming offered by the museum in earlier years and because of a professional camaraderie with and an invitation from Sol Davis, a former executive director.

  • Chris Tanz

I am originally from Warsaw, Poland. My professional background: Ph.D. in psychology, assistant professor at the University of Arizona, creator of public art (www.christanz.com). I have served on the following boards: Tucson Pima Arts Council, Arts Foundation for Tucson & Southern Arizona, and TUCSON (The Union of Citizens to Save Our Neighborhoods). I am interested in serving on this board because as a baby Holocaust survivor, as a member of the JHM, as a regular visitor to its exhibitions and presentations, and as an occasional speaker, I have found the programs organized by the Museum to be fascinating and inspiring. I contribute to these programs in order to ensure that knowledge about the horrors of the Holocaust will be maintained and shared with a wider public. I join in heightening people’s awareness of discrimination in various parts of our country, and of threats of genocide as they might arise in the world. I am glad that I can help support initiatives that work against discrimination and promote intergroup understanding.

  • Michael Zaccaria

I grew up in New York City. I am a retired higher education history/geography instructor and administrator who encourages students to view the present and past through the humanistic lens of compassion. I serve on the Jewish Community Relations Council of Southern Arizona and the board of the United Nations Association, Southern Arizona Chapter. I have been on the Steering Committee of the Tucson Tikkun Community since its founding in 2005. I was on the Board of Directors of the CUMCO Federal Credit Union in Vineland, New Jersey. I am interested in serving on the TJMHC board to further my awareness of Jewish history and to support efforts to understand genocide and call attention to its historic and contemporary manifestations. I bring the perspective of a studious Jew by choice with extensive academic and broad personal experience with other faiths.

  • Steve Landau

I’m the owner of two businesses here in Tucson where I’ve lived since I was 11. It took a while, but Tucson became the home I love. Over that time, I have enjoyed raising my two sons with my wife, Brenda, whom I met at Temple Emanuel as a teenager. Since then, all of our major life cycle events happened there. Growing up, I was keenly aware of who I was and my heritage as a Jew. I have always considered it as a way of life, a way to live and share compassion and understanding towards my fellow humans. Making a world a better place today and in the future are my main Judaic values and efforts. I look forward to ensuring that our people are treated with dignity and respect, and that generations to come will know our struggles and successes.

  • Sean Oseran

I attended the University of Arizona as an undergraduate and went on to study law at California Western School of Law. After working several years for the Pima County Superior Court in alternative dispute resolution, I switched gears by moving into the information technology field. As a young IT professional, I created and sold two IT support businesses, the second of which sold to Integrated Axis Technology in 2009, where I came on board as its Director of Sales and Account Management. In my spare time, I am a USPTA tennis pro and train dogs.

  • Alan Solot

I am a native Tucsonan, born at TMC. I have been a lawyer for over 40 years. Until July 2022, I primarily was a bankruptcy attorney most often representing individuals filing personal bankruptcy. Currently, I am employed at Southern Arizona Legal Aid as the managing attorney for the Consumer, Housing and Public Benefits unit. I mostly defend people facing eviction. In my personal life, I enjoy road cycling very much: I’ve ridden El Tour multiple times and thoroughly enjoy riding on Mt. Lemmon. I also enjoy reading novels.
